New Beginnings
It takes courage to make change. And change is something that has never come easily to me. I resist change for as long as possible until a catalyst propels me forward. And even then I usually go kicking and screaming.
But that is when wisdom comes into play. Change is scary. But wisdom is gentle and kind.
Wisdom reminds me that I am strong and capable. Wisdom reminds me that I never walk alone into change. God is always by my side. Period and full stop.
And that is how I discern the difference between what I can change and what I can't. Through faith.
Wisdom gives me the nudge that says, "Yes, you can."
Wisdom reminds me of the words in Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
How do you find serenity in the midst of change? I welcome your thoughtful comments.
Peace,
Debbie

This is a good topic, because like you, I am resistant to change. It makes me nervous and anxious and those intimate procrastination mode. Sad to say. I need to get on the ball looking for a single story house for my future, and have a few more cosmetic projects to complete, all involving painting! I'm trying to be purposeful about this, and not put it off. Something I've done lately when nerves kick in is to drive to a park where it is silent, get out my Bible and read. I specifically ask for God's guidance in my life, then try to get out of His way!
I'm glad this topic was helpful to you, Karen. Good luck as you look for a single story house and finish up projects around your current home. What a great idea to drive to a park and be in a relaxed spot for Bible reading and prayer! I think I will copy that idea. Have a wonderful weekend filled with serenity!
I use the serenity prayer to guide me along. Thanks for sharing Debbie. Wish you a wonderful weekend.
This is something I have to keep in mind almost all of the time. Understanding what I can change and what I can't makes it easier to find that sometimes elusive serenity. Thanks for this post, Debbie.
I read the word and journal in the midst of change. I find it is me that changes for the better, not the situation.
