Counting Our Blessings

Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits
Psalm 103:2 (NIV)
Last week I mentioned that I was going to start listing at least one thing each day for which I was grateful. I asked if anyone cared to join me. How have you done with this practice this week? For me, it has been an eye opener to be grateful each day for the many blessings the Lord has given me. I've been counting my blessings more which is a good thing.
Psalm 103 reminds us to not forget the benefits of the Lord...all the blessings that come our way each day. This Psalm basically lists all of the many blessings given to people by God and reminds us of God's compassion and love.
Today, I am grateful for safe travels for my family members who have all returned from Colorado having had safe flights. I am happy that my husband and I found a new used bookstore we had not explored before on our way to Charlotte today. I am thankful for good health, my home, my loved ones and friends. I am grateful for the words of Psalm 103 as a reminder to express my thankfulness to the Lord. What do you have in mind to be thankful for today?
Blessings,
Debbie

Thanks Debbie for this lovely post, I've been thinking about stuff to be grateful for a lot lately and I realise there is just so much! Today I'm grateful for the good health I've been blessed with, the beauty of nature and of the changing seasons and also for all the animal friends who have touched my life, including my cat whiskers! I am thankfull that God sent him to my door!
Thank you for your post, Debbie. I'm very thankful for good health. Since my husband had major surgery, and a few acquaintances have recently received some concerning diagnoses, health has been there front and center in my life. I am so grateful for my husband's recovery and for the health of family and friends.
I have been purposely doing this since you mentioned it. I start each day thanking God for one special thing, and have found that I'm adding more through the day. I intend to keep on, because as you said, it is good to remember our many blessings. I'm particularly thankful for the weekend I just spent in New York visiting my oldest son, daughter-in-law, and my grandsons. Had a wonderful time, and they are such a blessing in my life!
