Finding Sufficient Grace

How do we define the grace of God? It is the assurance that God is always present with us to love and forgive. We may turn from God, but God does not turn from us. God is ever present, ever working for His children's good. God's grace was exemplified by the life of Jesus here on Earth. Jesus chose to forgive rather than condemn, to heal rather than to hurt, to reach out rather than to push away.
In the world in which we live, weakness is seen as a negative attribute. Being powerful goes to those who are strong, who can manipulate their way, who don't worry about morals or scruples. Winning is the thing that counts....at all costs.
Jesus saw things differently. Our weaknesses are used by Jesus to become tools of power and perfection. It is not our own power and perfection, however, but God's power and perfection. Throughout the Bible are stories of people who were used by God who were less than perfect either mentally, physically or spiritually. The downcast, the poor, sinners, tax collectors, those who could not speak well, men and women, the sick, these are the people that God used in mighty ways. God's grace was sufficient for these people.
As we enter Holy Week and remember the passion of Christ, may we all know that our weaknesses are strengths in the eyes of God. God's grace truly is sufficient in our lives.
Blessings,
Debbie

God's grace is everything. Without it, I would be lost and guilty. With God's grace I am forgiven, and this is huge. What a great and amazing God we serve, who forgives our very human failings and offers us the gift of Jesus and grace. Grace that is greater than all our sin, we have so much to be thankful for!
You're right, Karen. God's grace is everything! Where would we be without it? Blessings to you!
